A Night Out With…Holly Madison

While the average girl next door might not have the most exciting tips about tearing up the town, Playboy playmate Holly Madison can quickly demonstrate that night life is her world, and we all just get to live in it. The former Hugh Hefner gal pal and current star of E!’s reality hit “Holly’s World” offers suggestions on beach bars, private corners in luxurious haunts and the one thing a girl should never leave home without.

What is your must-have accessory for any night on the town?

I always grab ponytail holders (hairbands, rubberbands, whatever people call them) before I leave just in case things get less posh than I expected.

If you’re expecting posh, where would you start?

I like Bar Nineteen-12 at the Beverly Hills Hotel [9641 Sunset Blvd.] because it’s not terribly sceney.

How about dinner?

I’d stay at the hotel and hit Polo Lounge, but I like to sit near the bar or way back in the garden corner so people don’t get nosy.

Your current favorite night spots and why?

I like Hemingway’s [6356 Hollywood Blvd.] because there’s an old-time feel to the place, old leather-bound books line the walls so it looks like you’re in a dark corridor of some mansion. As for clubs, I like Tru on Argyle and Sunset. Hip crowd and always great music!

What about when you’re feeling low-key?

Prince O’Whales [335 Culver Blvd.] in Playa del Rey is the best. It’s honestly such a gem. It’s not very touristy and always packed with beach locals who just want to have a good time. Drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is so welcoming. In Hollywood, the Hotel Café [16231/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd.] is great. The crowd is mellow and the performance lineup is always amazing.

Now, the matter of paramount importance: late-night meal?

Swingers [8020 Beverly Blvd.] for their Dreamsicle Milkshake! Also, Café Entourage [1600 N. Vine St.] because you can get nosh other than tacos and street meat 24 hours on the weekend, after leaving the clubs.

Your show, “Holly’s World,” films in Las Vegas. What’s a hidden haunt that Sin City visitors might not normally encounter?

My favorite hidden spot in Vegas for drinks is the Double Down Saloon [4640 Paradise Road]. They have live bands and DJs that play punk. It’s a really fun hole-in-the-wall. For drinks and dancing in Vegas, a lot of people really love Beauty Bar downtown [517 Fremont St. No. 150]. It looks like a ‘50s beauty salon, but it’s a bar with live music.
