I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown! This 2003 animated special Lucy and Linus’ little brother turns to Snoopy and Spike for holiday cheer (8 p.m. ABC).

MOVIES

Dickens: TCM devotes the evening to some of the best adaptations of Charles Dickens works, beginning at 5 p.m. with Alastair Sim in the 1951 adaptation of “A Christmas Carol,” followed at 6:45 by Robert Newton and Alec Guinness in “Oliver Twist.” Then it’s 1949’s “Nicholas Nickleby” at 9 and 1946’s “Great Expectations” at 11.

White Christmas: Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen star in this holiday classic based on the Irving Berlin song (8 and 10:45 p.m. AMC).
