Coachella 2013: Disclosure releases single ahead of Sunday night gig
Perhaps the most lukewarm performance Pop & Hiss caught last weekend at the first installment of Coachella was the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ festival-closing set on Sunday night, a true punk-funk-by-numbers operation.
As you make your plans for the remainder of Weekend 2, then, allow us to suggest skipping Sunday’s headliners in favor of Disclosure, the British electro-soul duo scheduled to play opposite the Chili Peppers at 11:10 p.m. Sunday in the Gobi tent.
Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence have released a string of excellent singles over the last year or so, including “Latch” and “White Noise,” both of which are to be included on a four-song EP due out in the U.S. on April 30. (Disclosure’s full-length debut, “Settle,” is to be released in Britain in June.)

And Friday the duo posted a new song, “You & Me,” on YouTube. With vocals by the English pop singer Eliza Doolittle, it’s another tastefully slinky Brit-soul jam that layers impassioned singing over forward-looking club beats.
Listen to “You & Me” below -- and get ready to hear what Disclosure does with it in the desert.
