Cher sang Tuesday night on the season finale of “The Voice,” turning in what her representatives said was her first television performance in more than a decade.
Dressed with characteristic flair in black fishnet and fuchsia feathers, the 67-year-old pop icon did “Woman’s World,” the thumping lead single from a new album due out Sept. 24.
Titled “Closer to the Truth,” the disc is Cher’s long-awaited follow-up to 2001’s “Living Proof,” which included the dance hit “(This Is) A Song for the Lonely.” Prior to that came her contributions to the soundtrack of “Burlesque,” the ill-fated 2010 movie musical in which she starred with Christina Aguilera.
On June 30 Cher is scheduled to perform in New York at Dance on the Pier, part of NYC Pride.
