Christian Slater marries Brittany Lopez at Florida courthouse
Christian Slater has taken the express route to marriage the second time around, getting hitched to fiancee Brittany Lopez spontaneously in Florida on Monday.
The two had simply gone to the Coral Gables courthouse to get a marriage license, People reported, but then decided to tie the knot on the spot.
Engaged since late 2012, Slater told the mag in May that they planned to have a backyard wedding in July — but apparently that didn’t pan out. They met in 2009.
“We had a big engagement party on the 31st of December and it was nice, it was like a New Year’s and we had all the family come, 200 people, so it kind of already feels like we did the wedding,” the “Heathers” actor told People in May.
The newlyweds had a wedding photo snapped at the courthouse.
It’s the second marriage for Slater, who was married for five years to TV presenter Ryan Haddon. Haddon, who’s now married to actor Marc Blucas, has two kids with Slater. Lopez, 26, is a business development consultant.
Slater, who will star in the upcoming ABC series “Mind Games,” is splitting his time between Miami, where he lives, and Chicago, where the show shoots. He can also be seen in “Nymphomaniac,” where he plays the father of Charlotte Gainsbourg’s character Joe. That film is due out on Christmas Day.
