A 2-year-old terrier mix, Sparky has experienced more than enough drama in his young life.

As a stray, he was hit by a car in August and suffered lacerations requiring many stitches — visible on his shaved back in the photo. Fortunately, he had no broken bones.

Sparky proved to be a remarkably resilient patient, who is now on the mend. In spite of his accident, this survivor is friendly with those who care for him and eager to go for walks. He has pep in his step, but is understandably shy of traffic. Sparky was recently neutered, and the vet has pronounced him ready for adoption.

This time around, he is definitely looking for a more secure home environment! Sparky’s adoption fees are discounted 25% all week when you mention this announcement at the Orange County Humane Society, 21632 Newland St., Huntington Beach.
