ABC announces premiere dates for new midseason shows

ABC announced premiere dates for two new dramas and two new comedies, in addition to other new and returning series in its midseason prime-time slate.

One new drama, “Red Widow,” stars Radha Mitchell as a woman who gets caught up in the organized crime world and has to fight to keep her family safe. The series, which is from Melissa Rosenberg, a writer of the “Twilight Saga” films, will have a two-hour premiere March 3 at 9 p.m. before taking over its regular slot, Sundays at 10 p.m., on March 10.

Anthony Edwards (“ER”) returns to network television in “Zero Hour,” which will premiere Feb. 14 at 8 p.m.. Edwards plays a man who spends his life debunking myths but winds up being drawn into one of the most compelling mysteries in human history when his wife abruptly disappears.

On the comedy front, the network is debuting “How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life”), starring Sarah Chalke (“Scrubs”) as a recently divorced single mother who is forced to move back in with her eccentric parents, played by Brad Garrett and Elizabeth Perkins. The show premieres April 3 at 9:30 p.m.

“Family Tools,” stars Kyle Bornheimer, J.K. Simmons and Leah Remini, playing family members who are also involved in business together. The comedy premieres May 1 at 8:30 p.m., taking over for “Suburgatory” after that show’s season finale.

Celebrity chefs Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre and Brian Malarkey are featured in a new cooking competition series, “The Taste,” which will have a two-hour premiere Jan 22 at 8 p.m. before settling into its regular Tuesdays at 8 p.m. slot on Jan. 19.

Another new reality show, “Celebrity Diving,” will premiere March 19 at 8 p.m. Among the judges will be Olympic gold medalists Greg Louganis and David Boudia.

“Dancing with the Stars” will return for its 16th season March 18 at 8 p.m.

“Body of Proof” starring Dana Delany will return Feb. 5 at 10 p.m. with a new cast member, Mark Valley.
