The Third Man: Director Carol Reed captures the atmosphere of a shellshocked postwar Europe in this classic thriller about an alcoholic writer (Joseph Cotten) who travels to Vienna to visit an old friend (Orson Welles), only to discover the man was recently killed. Or was he? (5 p.m. TCM).

American Horror House: On Halloween night, a sorority house is overrun with ghosts, while a vengeful housemother goes on a killing spree, in this new chiller. Morgan Fairchild and Alessandra Torresani star (9 p.m. Syfy).

Transit: A family camping trip is rudely interrupted by a gang of thieves who have stashed their loot in the family’s luggage. Jim Caviezel, Elisabeth Rohm, Harold Perrineau and James Frain star in this 2012 thriller (10 p.m. Cinemax).
