Good news for fans of funny women: “Broad City” is getting a third season on Comedy Central. The news comes on the same day the series returns for its second season.

The comedy series was created by and stars Abi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer as two best friends trying to figure out life in the big city in their 20s and all the odd misadventures that come with it. Amy Poehler executive produces, along with Jacobson, Glazer, Dave Becky, Sam Saifer and Tony Hernandez.

Comedy Central’s president of content development and original programming, Kent Alterman, poked fun at the long-noted gender gap between the number of female comics given platforms vs. male comics with a statement that read: “It has just been brought to my attention that ‘Broad City’ is a female-centric show, but we’re going to do more anyway.”
