DirecTV orders 20 more episodes of MMA series ‘Kingdom’

The fight is continuing on DirecTV.
The network has ordered 20 more episodes of the mixed martial arts-flavored drama “Kingdom,” which premiered Oct. 8.
Production on the new order is expected to begin next spring, and the first batch of 10 installments will air on DirecTV’s Audience Network. The second batch of 10 episodes will air in 2016.
“Kingdom” stars Frank Grillo, Kiele Sanchez, Matt Laura, Jonathan Tucker, Nick Jonas and Joanna Going. The family drama is set in Venice against the backdrop of mixed martial arts. Byron Balasco (“Detroit 187”) created the series and is executive producer and show-runner.
