Fox sets summer dates for ‘Boom!,’ ‘Masterchef’ and more

Fox has firmed up its summer plans -- and as you might expect, there’s more dancing and chef Ramsay.

Season 6 of “Masterchef,” overseen by culinary master and tart-tongued screamer Gordon Ramsay, will get a two-hour premiere on May 20.

“So You Think You Can Dance” will return on June 1. The competition show will start its 12th season with a big format change, now dividing the dancers into two teams of “stage” and “street” styles.

The family-oriented game show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” will return on May 26.

The network will try out a couple of newcomers: the game show “Boom!,” set to premiere June 25, and “Wayward Pines,” a 10-episode mystery set to launch (as previously announced) on May 14.
