Valerie Harper may have terminal cancer, but her work goes on. The former “Rhoda” star is making a TV movie in Canada.
The 73-year-old actress has been cast in “The Town That Came A-Courtin’,” an adaptation of Rhonda Rich’s love story about a divorced Southern writer (Lauren Holly) who finds love in a small town called Bliss.
Harper will play the owner of a bed and breakfast. The movie will premiere in January on the hard-to-find cable network UP, which is devoted to uplifting programming. The project started shooting this week, according to the Wrap.

Harper made headlines in March when she revealed she is suffering from terminal brain cancer. Doctors gave her only months to live, but she said she was determined to make the best of her remaining time.
“Don’t go to the funeral until the day of the funeral,” she said then. “Live this day.”
