Emmy Snubs & Surprises

Every year, the Emmy nominations bring surprises and snubs, and this year is no different. “Family Guy’s” nomination in the comedy series category is perhaps the biggest Cinderella story of all since once upon a time it was canceled not once, but twice by FOX, before the network resurrected the cartoon after strong DVD sales and cable rerun viewing. And even though the Academy gives much love to cable programming, newcomer “True Blood” and the now defunct “Battlestar Galactica” are conspicuously missing from the major acting categories.
