2019 US Open

Tennis’ best battle it out at the 2019 U.S. Open on Aug. 19–Sept. 8, 2019, in the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens. This year the U.S. Tennis Association unveils a sculpture just outside of Arthur Ashe Stadium of Althea Gibson, who in 1950 was the first African-American to compete in the U.S. Open, honoring Gibson’s legacy as a true American icon.
