Katharine Kidd closed out the Los Angeles Fashion Council’s run of shows at the Grove shopping center Thursday.

The inspiration: “This season’s inspiration stems from the secret garden,” Kidd said in her show notes. “Various different floral motifs are consistent through the collection. The most prominent being the signature rose print.”

The look: Flower power in full bloom. There were dresses covered in delicate line drawings of roses, black leather dresses and skirts with embossed floral patterns and brightly colored contrast piping, and the aforementioned photo print on tops, cutaway jackets and slim-fitting pants -- some with tuxedo-trouser grosgrain running down the side seam, others with a side zipper instead.

The verdict: Since Kidd’s clothes have been known to turn up on Hollywood red carpets (she’s dressed the likes of Rooney Mara, Emmy Rossum, Lea Michele and Kate Beckinsale) we were on the hunt for that dress -- the one you just know will end up having a star turn in the not too far future. Although we think we may have found a candidate (strapless gown with the draped bodice, we’re looking at you), the show was a great chance to see a wider range of what Katharine Kidd can bring to a woman’s wardrobe.
