Blizzard fears cause Marc Jacobs to postpone NY Fashion Week show [Updated 11:43 a.m. Feb. 8]

The blizzard bearing down on the Northeast is expected to hit New England harder than New York, but it sounded bad enough to reportedly cause Marc Jacobs to postpone his planned New York Fashion Week show from Monday to next Thursday -- Valentine’s Day. [The Cut]

UPDATE: Los Angeles Times Fashion Critic Booth Moore, who is covering fashion week, has been told it’s not the blizzard, but late-arriving clothing and accessories that prompted Jacobs to change his show date.

And most fashion executives said the shows must go on, despite the storm, nicknamed Nemo. [WWD] (Subscription required.)

Lindsay Lohan seemed ready for the storm when she attended Wednesday night’s AmFar Gala and after-party celebrating the kickoff of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week portion of New York Fashion Week. She wore what can best be described as a fur hoodie over her gown. [The Cut]
