Cruising the aisles of the Container Store, which specializes in storage solutions for home and office, can make the far-off goal of order feel like a possibility.
Feel overwhelmed by back to school? No problem. The Container Store opens its fifth Los Angeles location this weekend, at the Original Farmers Market at 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue.
The new 20,000-square-foot space (in the north market near Chipotle and Veggie Grill) features the usual suspects: 300 food-storage solutions, 750 office products, 45 types of laundry hampers, 170 styles of hooks and 70 styles of hangers, among others.
If that’s not enough to get you organized, the store also offers custom closet design services and tailored storage solutions by the Swedish shelving company Elfa.
This weekend’s grand opening also offers a feel-good component to getting organized: The nonprofit women’s network Step Up will receive 10% of the store’s grand opening weekend sales. Store hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. www.containerstore.com
