(Irfan Khan / Los Angeles Times)The showcase house’s living room was designed by Genaro Lagdameo of Designs of the Interior. The petite lounge evolved from being the atrium to becoming the bar. Lagdameo created a floating bar to give it a more open feel. All the decorative tiles and stone materials were provided by Walker Zanger. Inspired by the Jazz Age and Art Deco, the tile works are part of the elegant Ellington Collection, which features luxurious marble and limestone with graphic metallic accents in brass. It marries modern drama with sophisticated glamour to create a room with just the right amount of bling. The floating bar is made of porcelain slabs... a more current and very popular product to use in place of real marble.
