Selling, foie gras, declawing a pet cat, calling yourself a dog “owner?” Not in West Hollywood!
Banned: Being a pet ‘owner’
WeHo has clearly put animal rights among the top of its list of priorities. And in that vein, the city passed an ordinance declaring that any person with a pet should henceforth be known as the pet’s guardian, not owner. (Robert Gauthier / Los Angeles Times)
Banned: Parking on many residential streets
All you want is to grab a sweet and creamy Spanish Latte at Urth Café, or a fro-yo from the worlds first Pinkberry, or a drink at the Abbey but youll have to find parking first. You turn up a side street, and un-metered spots abound. But no, you cant park there, or there, or there. You cant park in any of them. Darned permit parking! (Allen J. Schaben / Los Angeles Times)
