In the bottom of the seventh with the score tied, 2-2, Traci Dickinson of El Dorado (2-0) reached first on an error with one out. Dickinson stole second and was moved to third on Amanda Santamaria’s sacrifice bunt. K.C. Craddick then singled to left center, driving in Dickinson for the winning run. Gahr is 1-1.

Relief pitcher Alyssa Gutierrez overcame a 1-0 deficit by shutting out Western and driving in the game-winning run in the eighth inning to lift host La Mirada (1-1). Nikki Johanson went two for four and had the game-tying RBI in the fifth inning for La Mirada.

Lauren Nydam, who has signed with Stanford, threw a perfect game, striking out 10, for the victory for the host Crusaders (1-0). Alex Kinney, a senior second baseman, had three hits, three runs scored and three stolen bases, and first baseman Jaclyn Duree, who has signed with Cal State Northridge, had two hits and two runs batted in. Arcadia falls to 0-1.

Nikki Reyes went two for three with a double, a triple and two RBIs, Casey Chapman went two for three with a double and a triple and and pitcher Jennifer Turner had seven strikeouts and went one for three for host Upland Christian (1-0).

Tiffany O’Leary of Temple City pitched a complete game in the opener for the loss, but came back to pitch four innings in the second game to garner the win at Workman. Both teams are now 1-1.
