Priest abuse files: An article in the Dec. 8 Section A about the upcoming release of the personnel files of priests in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles accused of sexually abusing children referred to Roger M. Mahony as a former cardinal. He stepped down as archbishop last year, but he retains the title of cardinal.

Crossword: The answers to the Dec. 2 crossword puzzle did not appear as scheduled in the Dec. 9 Arts & Books section. The answers to a different puzzle appeared instead. The Dec. 2 answers will appear in the Dec. 16 Arts & Books section.

“The Hobbit”: In a Dec. 8 Section A article about Peter Jackson shooting the “Lord of the Rings” prequel at 48 frames per second for greater clarity, a quote by “Looper” director Rian Johnson about Jackson should have read “It’s a filmmaker I love cranking up one of the few variables left in film exhibition, so even if I don’t think it’ll be for me, I’m just excited to see what it looks like,” not “As a filmmaker I love cranking up one of the few variables left in film exhibition, so even if I don’t think it’ll be for me, I’m just excited to see what it looks like.”

Generic drugs: An article in the Dec. 8 Business section about the U.S. Supreme Court’s taking up a case involving a “pay-for-delay” deal on a generic drug said Solvay Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s patent on AndroGel had expired. Although Solvay’s patent for the underlying substance in AndroGel has expired, the patent on the gel has not.

Writers Guild awards: A Quick Takes item in the Dec. 7 Calendar section said Showtime’s “Heartland” had received a nomination for the Writers Guild of America’s television awards. The show’s title is “Homeland.”

Yellowstone: In the Dec. 9 Travel section, a map with an article about Yellowstone National Park incorrectly placed West Yellowstone and Madison Junction. A map with the correct locations appears at left.

Young adults: An article in the Dec. 9 Section A about young adults moving out of their parents’ homes said that, according to Brookings Institution demographer William Frey, the number of people in the 25-to-29 age group moving across state lines last year was the highest in 13 years. The statement attributed to Frey should have said the increase in the rate of people in that age group moving was the highest in 13 years.
