Earthquake: 3.2 quake strikes near Cabazon, California

A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported Sunday evening three miles from Cabazon, California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:59 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 11.2 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was seven miles from Banning, California, 13 miles from Palm Springs, California, 13 miles from Desert Hot Springs, California and 269 miles from Phoenix, Arizona.

In the past ten days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
