Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Currant, Nev.
A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Friday morning 18 miles from Currant, Nev., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:41 a.m. PDT near the surface.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 131 miles from Spring Creek, Nev., 138 miles from Elko, Nev., and 213 miles from Carson City.
In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
