Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Alturas
A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Sunday morning 35 miles from Alturas, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:13 a.m. PDT near the surface.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 48 miles from Susanville.
In the last 10 days, there have been three earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
