Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Yucca Valley, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Tuesday morning 12 miles from Yucca Valley, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:49 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 2.5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 22 miles from Big Bear City, Calif., 22 miles from Desert Hot Springs, Calif. and 24 miles from Twentynine Palms, Calif.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
