Earthquake: 3.1 quake strikes near Redwood City, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Friday morning two miles from Redwood City, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 3:44 a.m. PST at a depth of 2.5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was three miles from San Carlos, Calif., three miles from North Fair Oaks, Calif., and 87 miles from Sacramento.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
