Earthquake: Two 3.3 quakes strike near Calipatria
Two shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquakes were reported Wednesday near Calipatria, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The first temblor occurred at 8:51 p.m. PDT; it was followed by the another quake at 10:06 p.m. Both occurred near the surface.
According to the USGS, the quake activity was 14 miles from Brawley, 22 miles from Imperial and 25 miles from El Centro, Calif.
In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
