Earthquake: 3.8 temblor strikes near Mammoth Lakes

A shallow, magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported Monday morning eight miles from Mammoth Lakes, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:42 a.m. at a depth of 3.1 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 68 miles from Clovis, 70 miles from Sanger and 74 miles from Reedley.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
