3.9 earthquake strikes near Rancho Palos Verdes
A shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon six miles from Rancho Palos Verdes, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1 p.m. PDT at a depth of less than a mile, the agency said.
The epicenter was seven miles from San Pedro, nine miles from Lomita, and nine miles from Palos Verdes Estates, according to the USGS.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3 and greater centered nearby.
