Big rig crash shuts down transition between southbound I-5, I-10
A big rig flipped over Monday night as it switched from one Los Angeles highway to another, shutting down a major transition road for more than an hour and a half, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Officer Alex Rubio said the rig, which was towing a second vehicle, overturned on the transition road between the southbound I-5 and the eastbound I-10. No one was injured in the crash. CBS Los Angeles reported that the vehicle was a tow truck hitched to a cement mixer.
The transition road was closed after the incident, which was reported to the CHP at 7:54 p.m., and was still closed at 9:30. The nearby Mission Road onramp to the southbound I-5 was later closed as well.
The I-5 and the I-10 remained open after the crash.
