Big rig fuel spill on 5 Freeway in Mission Hills closes 2 ramps
A big rig crash on the 5 Freeway in Mission Hills on Friday spilled diesel fuel across the road and forced the closure of two ramps, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred about 6:15 a.m. when a big rig collided with a Nissan Pathfinder and overturned on the southbound 5 Freeway at San Fernando Mission Boulevard. Los Angeles County firefighters were using sand to clean up the spilled diesel fuel, officials said.
The CHP issued a SigAlert and planned to keep the San Fernando Mission Road on- and off-ramps to the 5 Freeway closed until at least 9:30 a.m., officials said.
No reported injuries were reported.
