Sheriff’s investigators are trying to determine whether remains found in Compton are human
Remains and bones were found in a building in Compton on Friday, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
Cmdr. Keith Swensson said investigators were trying to determine whether the remains are human and whether they are linked to a crime. A woman at the scene told authorities they were animal bones, he added, but officials will do their own examination.
Los Angeles County coroner’s officials were dispatched to the 1500 block of Long Beach Boulevard but did not provide any details.
