Man stabbed at Hollywood & Highland intersection
A man was stabbed Sunday night at one of the busiest intersections in Hollywood, authorities said.
About 9:15 p.m., he was knifed in the back at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Titus Tyler said.
The victim was taken to the hospital and his injuries were not life-threatening, Tyler said.
The assailant was described as a man with tattoos on his neck. Detectives were interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage as part of the investigation into the incident.
The intersection is popular among tourists but has seen violent crime.
On Dec. 5, police shot and killed a man who was brandishing a knife and suspected of assault.
In June 2013, a woman was fatally stabbed by two men outside the mall. Both men were sentenced to prison.
