Human remains, possibly those of a woman, were discovered Monday night on a conveyor belt at a waste collection site in Bassett, authorities said.

An employee made the grim discovery about 8:37 p.m. while sorting trash on a conveyor belt at Athens Services in the 14000 block of Valley Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Crystal Hernandez.

The county coroner has yet to identify the remains or determine a cause of death, officials said Monday night.

Workers at the facility have found three other bodies on conveyor belts over the last two years, including one of a man last summer.

Months later, the body of 45-year-old Kesha Rena Williams was also found on a conveyor belt within a load of trash dropped off at the site.

In December 2013, an employee sorting trash found the body of an unidentified newborn.
