LAPD responds to reports of gunfire in Hollywood
Los Angeles police swarmed a Hollywood neighborhood Tuesday evening after a report of gunshots fired.
The gunfire was reported about 5:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Fuller Avenue near Fountain Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Officers were checking an apartment building in the area and were treating the situation as a “barricaded suspect,” said Officer Bruce Borihanh.
“No victims are down,” he told The Times. “We don’t have any hostages.”
No other details were immediately available.
[Updated 8:47 p.m.: A man was taken into custody and will be given a mental evaluation, the LAPD said. No weapons were recovered.]
