Overnight SWAT standoff in Winnetka ends; woman arrested
A woman who barricaded herself in her Winnetka home overnight was arrested Tuesday morning.
The woman, who was not immediately identified, was alone in her home in the 7000 block of Fullbright Avenue when Los Angeles police officers responded to a call about a possible suicide in progress, KTLA-TV reported.
When officers arrived about 10:15 p.m., the woman, who had a number of weapons registered to her name, refused to come out, LAPD Officer Kevin Archer said.
The incident prompted a SWAT team to respond. Nearby residents were also evacuated during the standoff.
The woman surrendered without incident to police shortly before 5:30 a.m., according to the LAPD’s Topanga Division.
