A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Claremont on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Investigators were trying to piece together details surrounding the incident, which occurred about 6 a.m., according to Metrolink spokesman Jeff Lustgarten.
The male victim died at the scene and no further information about him was available.
He was struck by train No. 383 on the San Bernardino line as it traveled west near Indian Hill Boulevard and Santa Fe Street. The train’s approximately 350 passengers, none of whom was injured, were transferred to another line, Lustgarten said.
Later in the morning, trains were being allowed to pass slowly through the area on a separate track as the investigation continued. Lustgarten said the incident caused delays on several lines.
The identity of the victim was being withheld until relatives could be notified, officials said.
