One person killed in plane crash in Anza-Borrego Desert
A man has been killed in the crash of a small plane in a desolate part of the Anza-Borrego Desert, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said Saturday.
The plane, a single-engine Cessna, crashed Friday in a part of the desert known as the Borrego Badlands. It was on a flight from Palm Springs to Borrego Springs with only a pilot aboard.
The wreckage was spotted Saturday by the Civil Air Patrol, which assists the Sheriff’s Department in search and rescue operations in remote areas. The name of the man killed in the crash has not been released.
