Police shoot person in downtown L.A. while responding to altercation
A Los Angeles police officer shot a person during a confrontation Sunday afternoon in downtown’s skid row, authorities said.
Police responded to a call about an altercation between two people at San Pedro and 5th streets about 11:30 a.m., said Officer Jack Richter.
After police arrived, “an officer-involved shooting occurred,” he said.
The identity of the person who was shot was not immediately released.
No officers were injured during the incident and no other details were immediately available, Richter said.
