Brawl erupts in gunfire, with 4 people injured and 2 arrested in Palmdale
Two suspects were arrested Monday after three people were shot and another person was injured in a brawl outside a shopping center in East Palmdale, authorities said.
The fight occurred around 2 p.m. in the area of 25th Street East and Avenue S and rapidly escalated when someone pulled out a handgun and began shooting, according to Lt. Ken Wright of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
When firefighters arrived at the shopping center, they found three gunshot victims and a fourth person who had suffered trauma to the face, he said.
The injured were taken to area hospitals and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
Witnesses and and residents provided deputies with details on the shooter’s description and whereabouts. About 20 minutes after the shooting, deputies took a man and teenage boy into custody, Wright said. A firearm was also recovered.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of a no-bail warrant for burglary, he said. Devon Hunt, 26, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Wright said. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
