Man fatally shot in Arlington Heights
A 20-year-old man was fatally shot in Arlington Heights on Tuesday night, police said.
The man was shot about 8:50 p.m. near the intersection of West 21st Street and Eighth Avenue, said LAPD Officer Jane Kim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooter is described as a man between 18 and 20 and wearing a black hoodie. He left the scene in a blue Jeep Cherokee.
Police do not know whether the shooting was gang-related, Kim said.
There have been five killings within a mile of this shooting in the last 12 months, according to the Homicide Report, a Los Angeles Times blog that documents all killings in L.A. County. Four of the people killed were shot.
