U.S. Marshals Service agent brandished gun while drunk, police say
A 27-year-old agent with the U.S. Marshals Service was arrested this week in downtown Burbank after authorities said he, while intoxicated, brandished a handgun at a man.
Andrew LeConte allegedly was holding his gun when he approached the man early Wednesday in the 300 block of East Santa Anita Avenue and asked him to follow, said Burbank Police Lt. Eddie Ruiz.
The man, who was working on his SUV, followed LeConte for a short distance before running away, the Burbank Leader reported.
Police responded to the area at 12:31 a.m. and located LeConte about half an hour later at San Fernando Boulevard and Angeleno Avenue.
LeConte was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and brandishing a firearm, police said.
His motive for approaching the man was not immediately clear.
