Driver in Westlake speeds through alley, flips vehicle, dies
A motorist driving erratically in Westlake on Thursday night died after crashing into another car and flipping his own vehicle, authorities said.
Los Angeles police said it’s unclear how the incident began, but that 39-year-old Raul Ramirez was speeding through an alley about 8:30 p.m.
Ramirez then struck a car traveling eastbound on 8th Street. Ramirez’s vehicle overturned on the roadway, killing him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Ramirez, police said, sustained “extensive blunt force trauma” and died at the scene. A description of his vehicle was not immediately available.
It’s unclear if Ramirez was intoxicated at the time of the collision, police said. The investigation remained ongoing Friday.
