Woman dies after her car plows into tour bus north of Fresno
A 60-year-old woman was killed when her car plowed into a charter bus on a rural highway about 20 miles north of Fresno, the California Highway Patrol said Thursday night.
Witnesses reported that the woman was driving erratically on County Road 145 east of California 41 shortly before drifting across the two-lane thoroughfare and smashing head-on into the bus, said Sgt. John Johnson of the CHP Madera office.
None of the 41 passengers on the bus were injured in the incident, which was reported around 5:15 p.m. The bus was from the Bay Area.
Johnson said investigators were trying to determine what caused the crash and whether drugs or alcohol were a factor. The name of the victim was not released.
