2 killed in possible racing or road rage crash in Northridge
Two of six people who were critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Northridge have died, police reported Thursday.
The crash occurred near Tampa Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Some of the victims were sprawled on the street when emergency crews arrived.
Investigators suspect that the three-car crash was caused by a pickup truck and a sedan that were speeding along Tampa. The drivers, they said, might have been racing, or road rage might have been a factor.
Authorities said the man driving the pickup and a pedestrian who was struck died at local hospitals. Their names will not be released until next of kin are notified, L.A. County coroner’s officials said.
