At least 3 die, including 2 children, in Pico Rivera car crash
At least three people died, including two children, and four others were injured Thursday in a two-car collision in Pico Rivera, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 8:45 p.m. near San Gabriel River Parkway and Rose Hills Road by the 605 Freeway, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
“It’s terrible,” Lt. Andrew Meyer of the agency’s Pico Rivera station told The Times.
He said preliminary information from his deputies at the scene indicated that the victims who died were ejected.
That car was carrying a total of five people, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. The other two people were an adult and a minor who were taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The second vehicle was carrying two women who were in critical condition when they were taken to a hospital, the spokesman said.
The ages of the victims were not immediately known. The cause of the collision was under investigation.
