Reader photo: Revelry
Not all jobs can be as interesting for people-watching as photographer Robert Larson‘s. Over six months, Larson shot a personal photo series about working at the Edison in downtown Los Angeles, titled — what else? — Food Runner. Shooting everything from his co-workers to the patrons in the Edison’s trademark speakeasy atmosphere, the black and white imagery helps capture some of the quiet moments and the revelry (as seen here).
“The job was fantastic, especially on Saturday nights when the place was packed and the food orders came in relentlessly,” Larson wrote in an email. “The patrons were always great entertainment whether they meant to be or not. I’ve never had so much fun getting paid so little.”
