Police: Men assaulted, robbed residents during home invasion
Armed men assaulted residents and ransacked a home in Laguna Terrace Park on Saturday night, police said.
Laguna Beach police were called at 10:36 p.m. regarding a home invasion that had just occurred. Multiple armed suspects reportedly entered the home through an unlocked sliding glass door and then assaulted three men, according to an email by Capt. Jason Kravetz.
When the suspects entered the home, two men were watching TV in the living room and another was asleep in a bedroom, Kravetz said. The intruders had the men lay face-down on the floor as others ransacked bedrooms. Police would not disclose what was stolen or the estimated loss.
A 52-year-old man and 72-year-old man were injured after being pistol whipped in the head by the suspects, police said. The older man was taken to the hospital. Both were treated by paramedics at the scene. The third man, a guest of the home, was not injured. His information is not being released.
The intruders are described as black men of varying builds. One suspect is described as a male in his early 20s with a thin build, and he possibly wore a mask that covered the lower portion of his face.
Anyone with information, such as suspicious observations from that night, should contact police at (949) 497-0377.
