To the editor: I’m tickled pink that Chef Carla Hall is embracing her gray hair.
The energy, money and time that Americans spend on trying to appear youthful equates to lost potential. Our youth and vigor cannot be reclaimed. There are so many things to do in our short lives, so why waste resources trying to reestablish what was?
We become artificial constructs trying to be something other than our genuine individual selves. I’m proud of my life and accomplishments. For this reason, I embrace my gray.
I’m a 59-year-old woman and I earned every hair. My gray is my sparkle, and I’m glad other people can see it too.
