Two sisters, Jennifer Nazario and Paula Nazario, wrote an Opinion essay on the cost of housing in Los Angeles that kept them and their parents in a cramped studio for 25 years. Only after incredible perseverance saving money and finding a low down payment mortgage were they able to buy a house with more space for their family.
